“Blakes are not only builders, but also true designers. Ryan’s constant appreciation of the design and attention to detail has resulted in the house of our dreams which could not have been achieved without his detailed eye for both aesthetics and practical use.

We fell in love with the site as soon as we saw it. It is settled neatly amongst 70 plus trees and set off the road down a shared drive in a rural location. The circa 1980s steel-framed barn was an ugly building but, after always wanting to build our own home, we immediately had a vision for something really special. The planning permission was not an easy task as we were obliged to retain the original footprint and needed to drop the level of the building to meet that of the landscape to accommodate a second storey for the 4 spacious bedrooms. Although we were fixed, footprint wise, we worked closely with our architect to achieve a light, modern, Scandinavian design including sky lights and birch ply outer-walls. Finding Blakes Designs (on recommendation by our architect) was an absolute win.”
